Prices will change on the Ukrainian energy market

Electricity will become more expensive. Price caps have been increased since May 20. The corresponding decision was made by the State Commission on Energy and Public Utilities.

Civil servants hope that this will stabilize the situation in the energy system and increase energy imports at night. To this end, the maximum prices for the next day and the intraday market are increased from:

• 3.0 to 5.6 thousand UAH per megawatt-hour from 00:00 to 07:00;
• 5.6 to 6.9 thousand UAH per megawatt-hour from 07:00 to 08:00;
• no change (6.9 thousand UAH/MWh) from 08:00 to 11:00;
• no change (5.6 thousand UAH/MWh) from 11:00 to 17:00;
• 7.5 to 9.0 thousand UAH per megawatt hour from 17:00 to 23:00;
• 3.0 to 6.9 thousand UAH per megawatt hour from 23:00 to 00:00.

During the day – 10 UAH/MWh.

The balancing market rates change as follows:

• 4.0 to 6.6 thousand UAH per megawatt hour from 00:00 to 07:00;
• do not change (8.25 thousand UAH/MWh) from 07:00 to 17:00;
• 8.25 to 10.0 thousand UAH per megawatt hour from 17:00 to 23:00;
• 4.0 to 8.25 thousand UAH per megawatt hour from 23:00 to 00:00.

During the day – 0.01 UAH per MWh.

Changing the maximum price will allow for greater energy imports from Europe. But industrial consumers working at night will have to pay higher consumption bills.
